From £100

When a parking charge notice (issued by private parking company) remains unpaid, most parking companies will pass the debt onto debt recovery firms to try and obtain the unpaid parking charge from you.

These firms such as Debt Recovery Plus, Trace, DCB tend to send template letters demanding payment, if these requests are ignored the parking company can then pass it onto Solicitors. Solicitors will send a letter notifying you of the unpaid parking charge followed by a letter before claim.

Letter before Claims ‘also known as’ Letter Before Action should be responded to and not ignored as this is the first step in the claim process

Where there is no reply to the letter before claim, solicitors will issue claims in the county court, this will say ‘claim form’ and will have the court seal on it. The claim form should provide details of the claim and gives you 14 days to acknowledge ad 28 days from the date of the claim (plus 2 working days for posting) to file a defence.

Many people do not do this or ignore totally and end up with CCJ can stay on credit report for 6 years.

We have a 100% success rate at defending county court claims from private operators as well as assisting people setting aside unfair CCJs.
